Blake Byram, a generous Austin-area
philanthropist, has worked with the Doctors Without Borders organization to
provide invaluable medical supplies and professional medical treatment to
people suffering from the recent natural disaster in Haiti. Blake Byram understands how
important the organization has become to the welfare and health of people
suffering from the results of war and disaster.
Doctors Without Borders, or Medicins Sans
Frontieres, has always striven to be a source of support and hope to those in
dire need of high-quality medical attention and care. An experienced pilot and
aircraft owner, Blake Byram was more than willing to donate his time and
helicopter to the organization during its efforts to help the people of Port Au
Prince, Haiti,
people struggling to cope with the aftermath of one of the worst natural
disasters in history.
Doctors Without Borders, as Blake Byram knows, was
originally established in 1971, and was initially comprised of 300 volunteers.
It was created with the intent of providing anyone in need with quality medical
care, relying on the generosity of doctors, nurses, journalists and more to
provide medical relief to people mired in war-torn and challenging situations
around the globe. Blake Byram played an integral role in the organization’s
mission to help the impoverished people of Port Au Prince receive access to an
abundance of medical supplies and personnel during the humanitarian crisis,
people with nowhere else to turn to for effective medical treatment.
Blake Byram is proud of his involvement with
Doctors Without Borders, which has become one of the most-respected and
effective nonprofit organizations in the world.
