Blake Byram Fights for Worthwhile Causes

Community support is a phrase often tossed about by people seeking ways to support their communities. For Blake Byram, community support has real meaning, compelling him to take real and effective action towards making the local community a better place to live.

As a former and decorated member of the United States Coast Guard, Blake Byram understands the need to get involved; to wear out shoe leather in support of efforts to help the people that need it the most. Blake Byram has been responsible for supporting and hosting local fundraisers that have had a direct and positive impact on struggling people’s lives. He was instrumental in the Fashion for Compassion fundraiser, the proceeds of which benefitted the Austin Children’s Shelter. Blake Byram was also a central figure in an American Red Cross fundraiser that raised $1.5 million in funds for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Also a professionally-licensed pilot, Bryam contributed both his skills and the use of his personal helicopter to search for victims of Hurricane Katrina, as well as to help wounded soldiers and their families through the Wounded Warrior Project.

Blake Byram has also donated his time and aircraft to the international Doctors Without Borders program, transporting numerous medical personnel and supplies to the needy people of Port Au Prince, Haiti. His humanitarian contributions for this indispensable organization went a long way towards providing much needed quality healthcare to the impoverished Haitian population.

Blake Byram continues to contribute his support to causes that seek to end poaching in both the United States and in South Africa. He is valuable, and socially-responsible, member of the Austin business community.
